The Pits
|
http://www.meetthepits.com/ | Rock/Disco/county ( mostly rock) I had the pleasure of hearing these guys in Evansville at the Pub. I was attending a great Christmas party given by Working Distributors. It was interesting because I met George just about 4 days earlier for the first time. Any why George and the band took a lot of fun kidding from Georges brother in law about the band being bad. However After hearing these guys perform, I was amazed. These guys can rock, they cover songs from the 60's to the 2008. They have songs they put some of their own twist to and others that sound like the original band was playing. They get the crowd involved by letting some of them come on stage to assist with playing a song selection. I did embarrass myself by asking if they have been playing together long. I found out by their website they have 25 years of rock'n. I recommend seeing these on one of there shows if you get a chance. |

| Three legged Dog | http://www.3legdog.net/Dogs.html | three legged dog (or "the dog") are a vincennes, in based band that play americana, pop & rock. specialties are roots & country-informed rock (the jayhawks, neil young, dylan, ryan adams, gram parsons), classic rock (tom petty, ccr, lots of beatles!) and current/recent favorites by guster, weezer, sheryl crow, david gray and many more. oh, and we like to throw in some curves once in awhile (like a hard rock version of "dancing queen" or some quirky talking heads or an old patsy cline or hank williams, sr. fave). |

Smoke Rings
|
http://www.myspace.com/thesmokerings
|
The Smoke Rings are an
energetic rock band from the Southern Illinois/Indiana Area, that fuses
the sounds of modern alternative and classic rock. The five piece band
consists of Stephanie Smith on lead vocals, the brothers Jake & Chris
Martin on guitar and drums, Shawn Storckman on bass and Darren Phillips
on keyboards and guitar. The band has a long history of performing in the Midwest as well as three years playing the most famous underground clubs in New York City. The Smoke Rings pride themselves in their ability to perform challenging material and have a huge catalog of both covers and original music. I had the pleasure of seeing this band at Old Town Tavern. There description says it all. I couldn't believe this band . They were so professional and there sound is like no other. I enjoyed hearing some of their classic 60's songs, that no other band would even attempt because of the complicated licks in the music.

![]() |
http://www.myspace.com/nakedunderourclothes | Joined together in July of 2006, founding members Will Peppers and Mike Murawski came together with an acoustic band in mind, but then added long time friend Wade Baumert on lead guitar. This addition changed the whole outlook of things, and soon there after they brought aboard Brent Allen on drums. After a year of play shows wade was forced to make a decision stay in the band and follow his dream or take a job to provide for his family. Wade left the band for a job but still returns from time to time to jam a few songs with the boys. N.O.U.C. then pick up long time friend Dustin Tumey, the addition couldn’t have been better. After only three weeks of practice they played there first show together the energy was amazing the four of the clicked so well it seemed as if they had been playing for five plus years. Their passion for music and performing live is reflected in everything they do. You just get lost in the music and find yourself singing along to every song. There stage presents is unbelievable and the songs keep everyone fired up and having an unforgettable, fun filled time.
